Charity Work

Each Year the children, parents and staff decide on a number of charities that the school will support with the proceeds from a number of fund-raising activities that take place during the year. Many people, both in this country and around the world need our help and this is one way we can contribute.

2016/17

Children In Need - 18th November

To show our support for 'Children In Need' we decided to do a non-uniform day, with both children and staff wearing spots. Throughout the day children also took part in a Inter House Football Tournament, and for every goal scored the school would donate some money to 'Children In Need'. Thanks to the amazing donations from parents and the fantastic effort during the Football Tournament we raised £385 for 'Children In Need'.

Well done to all the children who took part in the Football Tournament.

Poppy Appeal - 11th November

Once again the generosity of parents and staff at Pennine Way has been shown through the many kind donations we received, all to raise money for The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal. We managed to raise an astonishing £536 for the charity.

Thank you to everyone who donated.

Wear It Pink Day- 21st October 2016

In aid of Breast Cancer Care we hosted a 'Wear it Pink Day' which consisted of a coffee morning for children and parents, as well as a non-uniform day where children were asked to wear pink to show their support. As always at Pennine Way, there was a huge turn out to this event and we would like to thank all the parents and children for their fantastic contribution. We raised a massive £1610 for Breast Cancer Care which no doubt will make a huge difference to the amazing work this charity does.

Thank you again to everyone who contributed to the success of this day.

2015/16

Yet again we have had another successful term! As a community we have collected a large amount of food for our local food bank. The volunteers at Trussell Trust food bank were once again overwhelmed by the generosity of the parents and pupils of Pennine Way. They greatly appreciated all of the donations and remembered us from our great efforts last year. We would also like to express our gratitude and say a very big thank you to everyone that popped a donation in our trolley!

Miss Harrison.

On the 25th September 2015 we, as a school, raised £1000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. We could not have done this this without the help and support of all the friends and family members of our pupils, who attended and donated to this cause. Recognition must also be given to all the staff for making and donating all the delicious cakes and biscuits sold that day. We could not have asked for a better turn out for our day and we hope this level of support continues.

Thank you for making our day a success.
Miss Harrison.
