As part of our approach to the teaching of reading, all children are encouraged to take their books home to read, and to read regularly. Parents are encouraged to listen to their child read at home and help them record their experiences in a diary.

Children may also be asked to learn number bonds and "tables", find facts for history and geography, continue research into matters of interest, or complete English tasks.

Older children are given an increasing range of homework which will help to prepare them for homework at secondary school. Details of precise homework requirements are sent to parents at the start of each year and contained within the school's home work policy.
